ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of WhatsApp messenger as a medium for learning to write explanation text at the second grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kediri. This research was motivated by students’ difficulties in writing such as explantion texts. This research was raised with the following problems 1) How is the effectiveness of using WhatsApp messenger as learning online media for second grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kediri in writing explanation text?,2) What are the factors Inhibiting in Online Learning Process to writing explanation text at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kediri. This study uses descriptive qualitative research, namely research that is descriptive and tends to use analysis. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. The sample of this research is the second grade English teacher of TKJ-1 SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kediri. The instrument of this research is interview and observation .
