ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 pandemic requires all activities to be carried out online, including teaching and learning activities in schools. In this online learning period, it becomes a challenge for English teachers in teaching. Teachers must be able to take advantage of applications as facilities in the online teaching and learning process. Tiktok is a very popular application during this pandemic especially among teenagers. This study aims to explain the application of the TikTok application to facilitate students’ speaking skills in high school, which includes the strengths and weaknesses of the TikTok application and student responses about the TikTok application. This study uses qualitative research with descriptive methods using data from observations, interviews, and documentation. The participants in the study were high school students in class X MIPA 5. The results of this study showed that the application of the TikTok application was used by the teacher as a student learning media; then students agree that the TikTok application has many advantages; student responses are very positive about the TikTok application.
